Welcome to RidePool.in (“RidePool”, “Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RidePool website, mobile applications, APIs, and related services.
By creating an account, accessing, or using RidePool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.
1. About RidePool
RidePool is a technology platform that enables users to discover, offer, and join shared rides within trusted communities such as:
- Residential Apartments
- Villa Communities
- Corporate Organizations
- Educational Institutions
- Business Parks
- Verified Private Groups
RidePool is not a transport operator, taxi service, cab aggregator, travel agency, or employer of drivers.
RidePool merely facilitates introductions between users wishing to share journeys.
2. Eligibility
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have legal capacity to enter into contracts.
- Provide accurate information.
- Maintain only one active account unless specifically approved.
For drivers:
- Hold a valid Driving Licence.
- Own or be authorized to use the vehicle.
- Maintain valid Insurance.
- Maintain valid Registration Certificate (RC).
- Maintain Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate where applicable.
3. Nature of RidePool Services
RidePool facilitates cost-sharing carpooling.
Drivers are private individuals sharing available seats.
Drivers are not commercial transport providers unless specifically authorized under applicable laws.
RidePool does not guarantee:
- Ride availability
- Successful matching
- Route accuracy
- Driver acceptance
- Passenger acceptance
4. User Accounts
Users agree to:
- Keep login credentials confidential.
- Keep profile information updated.
- Verify their identity when requested.
- Notify RidePool immediately regarding unauthorized access.
Users remain solely responsible for all activities under their account.
5. Community Verification
RidePool may verify users through:
- Mobile OTP
- Email verification
- Apartment verification
- Organization verification
- College verification
- Employee ID
- Government ID
- Driver Licence
- Vehicle documents
RidePool may refuse or revoke verification at its discretion.
6. Driver Responsibilities
Drivers agree to:
- Drive safely.
- Follow all traffic laws.
- Maintain vehicle roadworthiness.
- Possess all legally required documents.
- Respect passengers.
- Avoid reckless driving.
- Avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness.
Drivers must never:
- Carry prohibited goods.
- Carry illegal substances.
- Engage in harassment.
- Demand additional payment outside the Platform without mutual agreement.
- Misrepresent vehicle information.
7. Passenger Responsibilities
Passengers agree to:
- Reach pickup locations on time.
- Treat drivers respectfully.
- Wear seat belts.
- Avoid distracting drivers.
- Not damage vehicles.
- Not carry prohibited or hazardous items.
- Follow reasonable vehicle rules communicated by the driver.
8. Cost Sharing
RidePool supports cost-sharing among users.
Any contribution collected is intended only to share reasonable travel expenses such as:
- Fuel
- Tolls
- Parking
- Vehicle wear and tear
RidePool does not encourage commercial passenger transport.
Platform fees, where applicable, will be displayed before booking.
9. Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment gateways.
RidePool is not responsible for:
- Bank failures
- UPI delays
- Card failures
- Payment gateway outages
Refund timelines depend upon payment partners.
10. Cancellations
Drivers and passengers may cancel rides.
Repeated cancellations may result in:
- Reduced ratings
- Temporary restrictions
- Permanent suspension
RidePool may introduce cancellation policies and fees in the future.
11. Ratings & Reviews
Users may rate one another.
Reviews must be:
- Truthful
- Respectful
- Non-defamatory
RidePool reserves the right to remove abusive reviews.
12. User Conduct
Users must not:
- Harass others
- Threaten users
- Discriminate
- Share offensive content
- Use fake identities
- Commit fraud
- Solicit users outside the Platform for unlawful purposes
- Misuse emergency features
- Violate applicable laws
13. Safety
RidePool encourages users to:
- Verify driver identity.
- Verify vehicle details.
- Share trip information with family.
- Use emergency contacts where available.
RidePool is not responsible for users’ personal safety during rides.
Users should immediately contact local emergency services in emergencies.
14. Community Groups
Organizations, apartments, and institutions may create private communities.
Community administrators are responsible for:
- Membership approvals
- Community policies
- User moderation
RidePool is not responsible for internal community disputes.
15. GPS & Maps
RidePool relies on third-party mapping providers.
Pickup locations, routes, ETAs, and navigation may be inaccurate.
RidePool shall not be liable for mapping errors.
16. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, software, graphics, and content belong to RidePool or its licensors.
Users may not:
- Copy
- Reverse engineer
- Redistribute
- Modify
- Sell
without written permission.
17. Privacy
Collection and processing of personal information are governed by the RidePool Privacy Policy.
Users consent to processing of their information for providing Platform services.
18. Third-Party Services
RidePool integrates with third-party services including:
- Maps
- SMS
- Push notifications
- Payment gateways
- Authentication providers
RidePool is not responsible for third-party service failures.
19. Suspension & Termination
RidePool may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Fraud
- Fake documents
- Abuse
- Criminal activity
- Repeated complaints
- Violation of these Terms
- Harmful conduct toward other users
Termination may occur without prior notice where necessary.
20. Disclaimer
RidePool is solely a technology platform.
RidePool does not guarantee:
- Driver conduct
- Passenger conduct
- Vehicle condition
- Ride quality
- Ride completion
- Safety
- Timeliness
All rides are undertaken at users’ own discretion and risk.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RidePool shall not be liable for:
- Personal injury
- Death
- Theft
- Property damage
- Lost income
- Indirect damages
- Consequential damages
- Emotional distress
- Missed appointments
- Delays
RidePool’s aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount of Platform fees paid by the user during the preceding three months.
22. Indemnity
Users agree to indemnify and hold RidePool harmless against claims arising from:
- Violation of these Terms
- Traffic violations
- Illegal activities
- User negligence
- Vehicle misuse
- Personal disputes
23. Force Majeure
RidePool shall not be liable for failures caused by:
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
- Internet outages
- Cyber attacks
- Strikes
- War
- Pandemic
- Civil unrest
24. Changes to the Platform
RidePool may modify, suspend, discontinue, or introduce new services at any time without prior notice.
25. Amendments
These Terms may be updated periodically.
Continued use of RidePool constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
26. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.
27. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably.
If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
The courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of RidePool shall have exclusive jurisdiction where arbitration is not applicable.
